First Day Back

We had a very successful first day back to school!  There were lots of smiles and NO tears!  That makes for an easier day for everyone.  We got all of the supplies put away and read books together.  Today we read The Night Before First Grade and The Kissing Hand.  These led to some great discussions about friends.  We have a great mix of students in class.  There were quiet kids, shy kids, outgoing kids and life-of-the-party kids in our class!  I can't wait to get to know everyone as the year gets started! 

Back To School!

It is hard to believe that Open House was last night and school officially begins tomorrow!  It was exciting to meet most of the first-graders who will be sharing our classroom over the months to come.  We have some fun things scheduled to welcome the littles back to school.  Until tomorrow...

Specials/Encore Schedule and Lunch!

We are on a six day rotation for our specials this year.  The specials will come in the same order each time, but will not fall on a set day of the week.

Day 1: Music with Mrs. Philippart
Day 2: Guidance with Mrs. Jochim or Mrs. Jolly
Day 3:  Media with Mrs. Yokely 
      --Remember to bring back books!--
Day 4: PE with Mrs. Graves 
      --Remember to wear tennis shoes!--
Day 5: Art with Mr. Schmoyer
Day 6: Computer with Mr. Kottlowski (Mr. K)

We will be eating lunch at 11:15 am.  The cost for students is $2.35.  Parents are welcome to come eat lunch with a special first-grader if they wish!  Any birthday treats that are sent in will be eaten during lunch.

2011-2012 Here We Come!

Today was the official end to the 2010-2011 school year!  Many changes are waiting for us in a couple of short months.  See you in the fall!
